The Treser Hunter based on the Type89 This conversion was not executed by the former Walter Treser GmbH, but by the K. Walter GmbH, officially led by Walter Treser's wife. Reason was that Walter had to file bankruptcy. Cars like the Largo were still built. The picture is from 1989/90, I do not know how long Treser cars were built, but there are some VW based conversions with the Treser name until the middle of the 90s
As with the first Hunter, based on the Type85, the new one, based on an Audi 90 Type89 quattro had widened fenders, raised suspension, bull bar, side steps, new skirts front and back and a tuned engine. The turbo engine did put out 180kW (245PS) and cost *cough* 26.500DM, the body work and the raised suspension would add up 64.370DM together. But in exchange you got an offroad limo that could do 230km/h (142mph)! Back then, an Audi 90 2.3e quattro would sell for 45.245DM and an Audi 90 20V quattro for 53.215,- so you have a comparison.
Sadly, this is till now everything I have about the Hunter on Type89 basis. |
